Job Title: Firewall Upgrade Network Specialist

Pay Rate: $100- $120 per hour

Scheduled Work Hours:

1. Normal Business Hours, Monday through Friday, totaling 35 hours per week, with a mandatory unpaid meal break after 6 hours of work. Any additional hours worked beyond 35 per week are compensated accordingly.

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

1. Conduct analysis and design of network infrastructure, primarily utilizing Cisco technologies, ensuring minimal service disruption during network upgrades.
2. Create and implement Cisco configuration templates for both new and existing router/switch deployments.
3. Perform comprehensive testing of SNMP, syslog, NTP, and NetFlow functionalities.
4. Coordinate after-hours changes with relevant stakeholders, including ticket creation, approval processes, and addressing inquiries from OTI teams.
5. Investigate and resolve network issues, escalating to TAC support when necessary, and identifying root causes.
6. Maintain network documentation in compliance with OTI standards.
7. Execute decommissioning tasks, including removing legacy configurations, updating documentation, and adhering to OTI guidelines.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

1. Minimum twelve years of networking experience.
2. Proficiency in BGP, MPLS, OSPF routing protocols in large-scale environments.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

1. Extensive experience in Cisco network installations, particularly in complex ring configurations.
2. Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst / Nexus Switches and NCS routers.
3. Proficiency in MPLS, EIGRP, iBGP, eBGP, IS-IS routing protocols.
4. Experience configuring CORE/PE and CPE routers/switches.
5. Comprehensive understanding of enterprise QoS solutions and management protocols.
6. Valid/current CCNP certification.
7. Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
8. Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
9. Highly self-motivated with a focus on customer satisfaction and quality.
10. Familiarity with project design review and network architectural design tools.
11. Knowledge of City of New York network infrastructure environments and processes.
