Our drivers provide safe and timely transportation to passengers throughout Schuyler County and to/from contiguous counties such as Chemung, Stueben, and Tompkins Counties. We are seeking drivers of 7-18 passenger vehicles to provide safe, reliable and courteous transportation services. Join The Arc team and enjoy dynamic passenger experiences transporting people on Schuyler County Transit or private routes including passengers with disabilities, the elderly, and children. Find your perfect fit! Drive a route with the same passengers each day or take advantage of the fun and diverse passenger encounters of public transportation. Several positions available including part time, full time, and per diem. Some part-time and full-time positions may be split shift. Per diem positions enjoy setting their own hours. Some flexibility is required.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Will be friendly, trustworthy, reliable, safe, and organized with a passion for helping people in our community gain transportation access to lead more independent lives.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Have a valid and clean CDL Driver's License with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience and Passenger or School Bus endorsement.
• Will be comfortable and willing to drive in a variety of weather conditions.
• Have a high school diploma or GED with the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently as required by passenger driver regulations.
• Must be proficient, or have the ability to learn, to use a computer, email, electronic tablet devices, and other in-vehicle technology.
• Will be able to remain seated and drive 3 - 10 hours a day while always remaining alert.
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of bending, lifting, twisting, and performing duties related to the job including, but not limited to the daily vehicle inspection as well as loading and unloading passengers and their mobility devices.
• Must be able to pass a Federal DOT Driver Physical and Pre-employment Drug Test.
• Participate in the Federal FTA Drug and Alcohol testing program.
