Ehrhardt Automation Systems is Hiring an Applications Engineer Near Granite City, IL
- Review customer RFQ packages and provide feedback on terms & conditions, cycle times, part tolerances, CPK data, run-off requirements, data collection and project timing. Generate responses and/or questions to the customer based on the document.
- Attend brainstorming sessions with Sales and Engineering, generating cost competitive assembly solutions.
- Generate Assembly & Test concepts for Single Stations, Semi-Automatic Cells and Fully Automatic Systems such as Lean Cells, Dial Machines and Palletized Assembly Lines.
- Generate budgetary and firm estimates for the above equipment. Obtain component pricing by communicating with suppliers.
- Assist Engineering in proving out hardware/concepts with suppliers.
- Develop proposals that have a clearly identified scope, including specifying machine buy-off requirements, identifying customer requirements at project level and ensuring that the customer specification has been reviewed and that appropriate assumptions and exceptions are made.
- Provide technical presentations to customers with the sales team when required.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with customers as required.
- Provide updates to team members and conduct technical reviews with peers on quotes prior pricing reviews.
- Travel to manufacturing facilities, prospecting new customers and attend RFQ and Project meetings.
- Provide accurate and timely proposals for customer’s RFQ.
- Work with Engineering and Sales teams to ensure appropriate information has been received and reviewed.
- Review and analyze quoted performance against actual performance. Ensure quoting activities are in alignment with Engineering and Manufacturing hours and material content.

- Bachelor’s degree in a related business/engineering field or related industry experience.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a related business or Applications Engineering role.
- Proficient with MS Office software suite, exceptional Excel skills highly preferred.
