Job description

EHC Construction is currently seeking a CDL Dump Truck Driver who will be responsible for the safe and professional operation of a truck on public highways, roads, and job sites to transport materials. The driver will be required to perform daily pre and post-trip inspections and properly document them in compliance with DOT guidelines. This position requires a high level of skill in operating trucks and materials efficiently and safely. The driver will be expected to follow the supervisor's instructions to carry out the work. A minimum of 3 years of construction driving experience is a mandatory requirement for this role.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

• Checks fluid levels, tires, lights, and other controls for safe operation.
• Keeps accurate log of deliveries and completes required paperwork for billing.
• Load and unload materials.
• Monitor various gauges during the operation of the vehicle.
• Maintain daily vehicle mileage logs.
• Unrolls truck tarp to cover loads when required.
• Properly follow all company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment.
• Must keep the vehicle in a clean and orderly condition.
• Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

• A minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
• 3 or more years of Construction driving experience.
• Must maintain a CDL A or CDL B license. Responsible for keeping all D.O.T. permits and copies of current regulations readily available through the Clearinghouse. 

Physical Requirements

The job involves physical activities such as climbing, bending, squatting, sitting or driving, trunk movements, lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling weight, and working with hands and fingers. The job also requires good vision abilities, including close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to focus. Additionally, the candidate should have good hearing and speaking abilities and be able to cover/uncover loads when applicable.
