Job Description

As one of our senior data engineers, you will bring a blend of technical and consultation experience, delivering professional services work to support our customers on their data journeys. You’ll have a passion for problem solving and an ability to effectively articulate the business value of data modernization and optimization. You will be working remotely with clients of various seniorities and operational maturities, meeting them where they are, and delivering professional technical services to achieve client business goals through the optimization, modernization, and transformation of data. You will have the benefit of collaborating with internal team members and working with our clients to identify, justify, and design data solutions to improve business processes, productivity, and business insights.

This position is remote and can be located anywhere in the continental US.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Data, AI & Power Platform Practice Leader, you will:

· Assume direct responsibility for the requirements gathering, design and architecture, and delivery of solutions for our customers.

· Design, build and implement Azure data solutions using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Machine Learning and Data Lake Storage.

· Design, build and maintain data warehouses and data models using best practices and industry standards.

· Perform data ingestion, transformation, and analysis using ETL and analytics tools.

· Optimize and troubleshoot data pipelines and data quality issues.

· Collaborate with other data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver quality data solutions.

· Communicate effectively with clients and team members in both written and verbal methods.

· Participate in sales calls to help uncover client needs and elaborate on the art of the possible.

· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers.

· Identify new areas of business opportunity and product development using the Azure data platform to develop repeatable and scalable solutions.

· Contribute to the development and maintenance of eGroup’s Data Delivery Playbook.

· Stay up to date with the latest advancements in data technologies and evaluate their applicability to client projects.

Qualifications

· At least 5 years of experience using Azure tools and services to design, build and implement Azure data solutions.

· At least 10 years of overall experience in implementing data solutions for companies of varying size.

· Proven track record in adaptability, teamwork, and problem solving.

· Proficient in database design, ETL and analytics.

· Proficient in designing, building, and maintaining data warehouses and data models.

· Foundation in programming languages such as Java, Python, R, and Scala.

· Proficient in critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

· Experience or a working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric is a plus.

· Consulting experience or comparable industry experience is a plus.

· Willing to join a team that functions like a start up inside of a larger established organization.

· Thrives in ambiguity and is self-motivated and proactive in solving problems.

· Comfort working within various development methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.

· Team player and strong collaboration skills.

· Great communicator and confident when speaking with clients ranging from fellow data engineers to executive team members.

· Preferred: Azure, AI, Data certifications
