Summary

As the brand is growing so is our team! Egglife Foods is looking for an Engineering / Continuous Improvement Manager to join our team, reporting to the Plant Manager. This position will be a key member of the egglife team helping drive design and execution of engineering projects and identification and execution of continuous improvement projects that will be essential to drive the financial success and growth of the business. The position will also be responsible for ensuring we build a culture of engagement and teamwork.

Essential job functions

  • Responsible for working collaboratively with the plant staff in the identification and execution of engineering projects across the facility. To include but not limited to infrastructure, process improvement, equipment improvement, etc., to help improve capacity, efficiency, effectiveness, and to drive the best business results.
  • Responsible for working collaboratively with the Marketing, Sales, and R&D functions to help execute innovation and growth projects that require engineering/capital.
  • Responsible for setting and maintaining the applicable capital budgets and ensuring that the budgets come in on cost, timing, and delivery.
  • Responsible for project management to successful completion.
  • Responsible for managing the vendors, suppliers and technicians that are associated with engineering projects.
  • Ensure that all projects and vendors are in compliance with all Federal, State, Local, and company regulations, rules, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Work jointly with the maintenance department in the care and upkeep of the facility, the equipment, utilities, etc.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives, in collaboration with cross-functional staff, across the facility.
  • Responsible for detailed data analysis utilizing process information and financial reports to assess manufacturing activities and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints, infrastructure design and with automation/robotics and awareness of new technology advances in the food manufacturing arena.
  • Responsibility with being familiar with and your department and vendors are at all times fully compliant with Food Defense, QC, HACCP, SQF, GMP, IDEM, OSHA, and EggLife.
  • Perform any other duties deemed necessary or vital to egglife's operations or interests.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 10-15 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering.
  • Food Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong experience with change management and influencing organizational change.
  • Ability to quickly address critical and urgent situations.
  • Possess good decision-making skills.
  • He or she will also demonstrate strong leadership, teamwork and communication skills and can work on a computer (understanding Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Proven experience in leading and developing direct reports.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills and experience/knowledge of statistical processes.
  • GMP/HACCP Experience.
