COMPANY MISSION At eGenesis, we aspire to deliver safe and effective human transplantable cells, tissue and organs utilizing the latest advancements in genome editing. POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Analytical Development team as a Principal Research Associate/Scientist. This position is an excellent opportunity to help develop new gene editing and xenotransplantation products in an exciting and dynamic environment focused on cutting-edge molecular and cellular engineering technology. In this role, you will lead a small team responsible for developing and qualifying methods to assess transgene expression and function in genetically modified porcine cells. This role will involve significant cell culture work, including the isolation, growth and maintenance of primary cells, such as endothelial cells from various organs, and characterizing these cells using techniques such as flow cytometry and ELISA. To be successful in this role, you will leverage previous experience with immunological and genomic assays. This role is a full-time lab-based position in which being proactive, determined, responsible, coachable, and collaborative will help you thrive. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, optimize, and execute robust and reproducible assays
Utilize various techniques to characterize the primary cells and/or factors they produce, including flow cytometry, ELISA, conventional and real-time PCR, etc.
Isolate, culture, and assess the function of porcine cells
Communicate and present scientific findings at group and company meetings
Implement superb documentation of procedures and experiments to support tech transfer
Contribute to multiple research projects as they arise in our fast-paced, start-up environment
Troubleshoot and optimize assays and maintain careful records
Build our laboratory efforts by maintaining and creating a productive and fun environment
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. with 2 years of industry experience, or MS degree with 4 years of industry experience in cell biology, immunology, biochemistry or related discipline
Prior experience in development and execution of assays to characterize and measure proteins and DNA using a variety of methodologies, particularly flow cytometry
Proficiency in growing and maintaining mammalian cells in culture and aseptic cell culture techniques
Expertise in general cellular and molecular biology techniques, including ELISA, FACS, flow cytometry, RNA/DNA isolation etc.
Demonstrated experience leading a team and developing talent
Strong communication and organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and multitask efficiently in a results-oriented, dynamic environment
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams
