Effingham/Bryan/Bulloch County areas - Water Utility Management is Hiring a Wastewater Operator - Effingham/Bryan/Bulloch County areas Near Pembroke, GA

Position: Wastewater Operator

Reports To: Wastewater Manager

Wastewater Operator will be responsible for working in the Effingham, Bryan, and Bulloch County areas (work vehicle provided).

Come work for Water Utility Management! We are looking for a great candidate to perform duties related to the operation, maintenance, and inspection of wastewater facilities. Salary begins at $17 for a candidate with no experience and ranges up to $24

Position Responsibilities:

  • Operates wastewater facility equipment and machinery that include pumps, aerators, chemical feed equipment, and jet pumps, vac trucks etc.
  • Collects samples and performs necessary process control analysis.
  • Prepares and submits daily operational reports.
  • Troubleshooting, planning, assigning and direct maintenance work within the area of responsibility and facilitates repairs to waste treatment facilities, lift stations and collection systems.
  • Ensures that all facilities and grounds are kept clean, painted, neat and orderly and to WUM Company standards.
  • Perform all aspects of sampling, monitoring, and testing required to maintain compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations governing the wastewater treatment process, and sludge management, such as Settleometer, Ammonia, Nitrate, DO, pH, Alkalinity, and solids analysis.
  • Assist with the installation and inspection of new sewer lines and services.
  • Locate, mark and notify sewer lines per UPC (Utilities Protection Center) requirements.

Materials, Equipment and Tools:

  • Must be able to use all appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when performing tasks.
  • Ability to use pump related equipment, electrical equipment, pneumatic equipment, chain saw, shovels, rakes, face shields, gloves and other equipment as needed.
  • Familiar with diagnostic instruments and ability to test, calibrate and repair complex devices and equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
