Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our team as a Credentialing Specialist. As a Credentialing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that healthcare providers meet the necessary qualifications and standards to practice within our organization. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in medical terminology and experience in medical office settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of provider credentialing and re-credentialing processes.
  • Ensure timely renewal of physician licenses prior to expiration.
  • Conduct primary source verification for new and existing providers to uphold due diligence standards.
  • Maintain accurate and updated physician files, utilizing database tools and software for records management.
  • Monitor database status/alerts and generate reports to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Uphold credentialing standards to guarantee accuracy and consistency across processes.
  • Provide credentialing back-up support for other members of the credentialing team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in healthcare credentialing or related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with credentialing software applications, such as MDStaff, preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to interpret and ensure compliance with accrediting and regulatory agency standards.
  • Knowledge of healthcare statutes and laws related to credentialing preferred.
