Efficient Home, LLC is a leading Energy Efficiency Services Company headquartered in Burtonsville, MD. We are a financially stable, growing small business. We are experts in homebuilding, environmental inspections, building sciences and energy ratings, working with homeowners, residential buildings, building professionals and businesses in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

We perform comprehensive Energy Audits and Quick Home Energy Check-ups using diagnostic tests to identify cost saving measures that will help the energy efficiency of residential and commercial properties. We also implement cost saving measures in homes, apartments and commercial properties. Our mission is to educate and consult with homeowners and business professionals on cost-effective ways to lower their energy use, save money, and improve the comfort of their residence/business as well as making it safer.

In addition to performing Energy Audits and Quick Home Energy Check-ups, Efficient Home offers comprehensive contractor services. We have a staff of experienced technicians and installers certified in the latest technology to deliver a wide variety of high quality services, from remedial repairs to major installation work.

We are currently looking for an Installer/Technician to join our growing organization as we expand our territory in the greater Montgomery County, MD/Northern Virginia area. If you like to work with your hands and make an impact on customers living spaces, this is the job for you!

Responsibilities

The qualified candidate will be trained to perform Energy Retrofit Installation work. After training, this position may also oversee the execution of subcontractors. The types of jobs this position will perform/oversee include air sealing, insulation, HVAC repairs, basic electrical repairs, roof repairs, duct repairs and ventilation of bath fans and dryers.

Basic Qualifications/Skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Customer service focused;
• Self – starter; well organized with the ability to work independently with strong attention to accuracy and detail;
• 2 years working experience in a related field;
• High School diploma is required; college coursework/degree is preferred;
• A valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and a good driving record is required;
• Electrical skills/experience for basic electrical work;
• Carpentry, drywall and/or roofing experience for minor carpentry and drywall repairs;
• BPI and OSHA certifications preferred but not required; or have the ability to obtain these certifications (Efficient Home will pay for candidates to go to training and to obtain certifications);
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.
• All new hires must pass a drug screen and background check
• The qualified candidate must have the ability to carry and set-up equipment, weighing approximately 40 lbs. In order to thoroughly view the entire residence, candidates must also be able to climb ladders and crawl through attics.
• The qualified candidate must be able to operate simple hand tools.
