Position Overview: Are you a tech enthusiast with a knack for problem-solving? We're on the lookout for a versatile Desktop Support Administrator to bolster our IT team in St. Louis, MO. As a crucial member of our team, you'll be entrusted with a broad array of responsibilities, spanning from physical inventory management to cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities:

Physical Inventory Management and Annual Asset Audit:

  • Conduct regular audits to keep track of IT hardware and software assets.
  • Lead annual comprehensive asset audits to ensure inventory accuracy and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Maintain and update inventory records in adherence to company policies.

End-User Hardware Deployment:

  • Set up and configure desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices for our team members.
  • Collaborate with vendors for procurement and warranty services.
  • Oversee annual upgrades to enhance our technology infrastructure.

Ticket Management:

  • Prioritize and resolve support tickets submitted to the helpdesk promptly.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all tickets and report monthly metrics to management.

SLA Compliance:

  • Partner with Level 1 support personnel to monitor and uphold service level agreements.
  • Identify and address any issues impacting SLA compliance proactively.

Support Escalations:

  • Manage and resolve support escalations from Level 1 technicians or end-users.
  • Coordinate with other IT teams or external vendors to expedite resolution of escalated incidents.

Documentation:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for IT processes and system configurations.
  • Develop user guides and FAQs to empower our team with troubleshooting resources.

Employee Termination Process:

  • Execute the IT aspects of employee offboarding, including account deactivation and asset retrieval.
  • Ensure compliance with data preservation and confidentiality policies.

System Patching:

  • Regularly update and patch systems and software to bolster security and efficiency.
  • Monitor systems for vulnerabilities and maintain patching compliance with IT standards.

Network Troubleshooting:

  • Identify and resolve network connection issues using fundamental troubleshooting methods.
  • Provide support for Zscaler client connectivity issues and demonstrate proficiency in routing and subnetting.

VMware vSphere Experience:

  • Possess a basic understanding of VMware vSphere virtualization infrastructure.

Microsoft 365 and Entra ID:

  • Administer Microsoft 365 services to enhance end-user productivity and collaboration.
  • Manage user accounts and access permissions using Entra ID or similar identity and access management tools.
  • Assist in maintaining application deployments using Intune/Endpoint.

Understanding Cybersecurity Risks:

  • Stay abreast of emerging cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Monitor desktop systems and network traffic for signs of suspicious activity or unauthorized access attempts.
  • Respond promptly to security incidents or breaches, documenting incident details and reporting findings to the cybersecurity team and management.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a desktop support administration role with increasing responsibility.
  • Strong understanding of network design, configuration, and security principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.

Certifications Required: CompTIA A and Network
