Inventory Sales, an EFC International company, is looking for a Front Counter Salesperson - Hardware to join the team at our Affton, MO location. This position is responsible for customer service, placing orders, merchandising, and keeping the sales and backstock areas clean and organized. They will also work closely with members of the Warehouse and Sales teams. Excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively are essential skills.

This position is 100% on site.

Position Summary: The Front Counter Salesperson - Hardware will assist in the selling, receiving, stocking, pricing of all merchandise and help maintain a clean and orderly merchandise presentation and overall store cleanliness. They will provide excellent customer service in person or over the phone.

Customer Service:

• Provide a positive representation of Inventory Sales.
• Proactively assist customers in solving problems.
• Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
• Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.
• Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to a member of management.
• Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.

Store Operations:

• Assist in creating a positive, professional and safe work environment.
• Assist with receiving, checking in and stocking of merchandise throughout the store.
• Assist with maintaining back stock levels.
• Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and outdoor merchandise area.
• Assist with providing a clean and orderly sales floor, including end caps and ad merchandise.
• Assist with merchandise and price changes, special orders, etc.
• Ensure signage is current throughout the store.
• Communicate any issues to Management for follow up.
• Communicate any merchandising, cost control or sales idea to Management.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Possesses and follows behavioral competencies and necessary skills to achieve overall company desired results and expectations.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in the hardware or construction industries a plus. Retail sales experience is preferred.

Physical Demands: Standing, walking, lifting (up to 60lbs) and climbing.
