Manufacturing Test Engineering work to ensure that the Operations team within manufacturing will have what they need in order to build and test products and with Voice of the Customer, Safety, and Quality built into program requirements.

These Test Engineers are responsible for bringing next Generation manufacturing technologies, skills and processes to the Vacuum Semi Chamber Division through continuous coaching, demonstration and leadership. In doing so enabling agile, adaptive and operational excellence across the Product Company portfolio.

This specific Co-op Engineer role within Mfg Test Engineering will support the team to execute a multitude of engineering projects in the Product Company. An exciting aspect of this Co-op will be the variety of projects that could be assigned across our spectrum of activity.

Examples would be:

• Edwards Vacuum has just moved into a new factory in Haverhill, MA, dozens of new pieces of technology have been installed and need to qualified and tested.
• Additional equipment are in process of installation, and will need further build, development and integration.
• Pilot new equipment and processes
• SPC and Data Analysis

Responsibilities:

• Document new fixtures and tooling using Autocad (2D) and Solidworks (3D) CAD software
• Learn to develop in LabView with some exposure to PLCs.
• Work closely with the Haverhill Manufacturing Engineers to adopt best practices that enhance Product Company operations.
• Drive Haverhill pilots, trials, and Lean deployments

Job Scope:

• Will be assigned 2-3 Semester long projects with the goal of completing them in an organized fashion ready for a hand-off to either the next Co-op or Engineer
• Less formal technical task assignments will arise where the Co-op will be assisting others to complete projects more timely.

Requirements:

• Current Engineering Student seeking a Bachelor's in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Students should have completed their Sophomore year before the start of the Co-op (ie. Rising Juniors)
• Prefer students that are open to a 2nd or 3rd Co-op Session in the future.
• Strong communications skills, ability to be a self-starter and creative problem solver.
