Edward-Elmhurst Health is Hiring a Strategic Planning Analyst Near Warrenville, IL

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Strategic Planning Analyst is an integral member of the Strategy, Planning & Business Development Team and assists in the development of strategic objectives, business initiatives, and short and long-range goals of the organization. Under the supervision of the System Director, Strategy, Planning & Business Development, the Strategic Planning Analyst compiles and analyzes key data used for strategic and business decision making. Collects data from internal and external sources, assembles reports and prepares graphs, charts, tables, maps, surveys and other related materials and contacts key personnel to obtain additional information. Participates in development of business plans and strategies for the Corporation.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except those that begin with the word "May.")

  1. Plans, scopes, compiles and analyzes pertinent internal and external information to support strategy development, program/service planning and business decision making. Collects and analyzes demographic, patient, utilization, financial and competitor data to support decision making. Visualize information and data by preparing charts, surveys, tables, graphs, reports and materials used by the department, senior management, and other management throughout the corporation.
  1. Assists in processes required to complete NS-EEH strategic and business plans, interacting with hospital leaders, clinical staff, physicians, and external sources. Completes reports, analysis, and presentations as needed.

  1. Responsible for overseeing the integrity of data utilized by the Strategy, Planning & Business Development Department and actively pursues new sources and/or ways of producing strategic and business planning intelligence.
  1. Maintains the Planning Department’s computer applications/software (e.g. COMPdata, SG2, Demographic, Mapping) and files necessary to conduct analyses including databases of competitor data, graphics, and spreadsheet packages, demographic and mapping software, other applications as needed.
  1. Completes State, Association, and related mandatory surveys and other surveys upon request and as necessary.
  1. Compiles necessary data and information for Certificate of Need (CON) applications and assists in post-permit tracking. Monitors CON application processes and activities for NS-EEH as well as competitors.
  1. Serves as internal resource in the understanding and use of various sources of Customer Information and Research in collaboration with the NS-EEH Marketing Department and Marketing Analytics.
  1. Maintains knowledge of current industry and market trends, and developments in the field by reading appropriate articles, case studies, books and other literature, and attend­ing related conferences, webinars, etc.
  1. Performs other related duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  1. Education, Experience and/or Skills Required:
    • Bachelor's Degree in healthcare, business or a related field or a minimum of four years of years of relevant work experience.
    • Excellent computer skills to use various software programs

  1. Education, Experience and/or Skills Preferred:

A minimum of one year in health care data analytics, health care planning, decision support, or business intelligence.
