Basic Function: 

The laundry associate works with soiled or clean linen as assigned. The associate assists in the laundering process by providing high quality linen items for patients, staff, linen using areas and external accounts.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Sorts soiled linen on the conveyor and separating linen into soiled linen carts.


2. Places soiled linen cart into cart tilt and remove soil bags from cart. Empty soiled linen onto conveyor.


3. Sorts, folds and stacks clean linen.


4. Inspects linen for quality and cleanliness standards.


5. Operates machinery and other related equipment.


6. Performs other tasks as assigned by management.

• Physical job tasks include:

1. Continuous standing and walking.
2. Lifting up to 10lbs continuously, 20lbs frequently, and 50lbs occasionally.
3. Carrying up to 10lbs continuously, 20lbs frequently, and 50lbs occasionally.
4. Pushing and pulling with force of 15-20lbs continuously, 20-25lbs frequently, and 25-30lbs occasionally.
5. Continuous bending, reaching, and repetitive use of hands in machine operation.
6. Exposure to potentially infectious items, extreme heat, dust, lint and chemicals.
