Job Title: Substitute Teacher for Brook Valley Schools

Job Code: 7151

Number of Days Worked: Varies based on the needs of Brook Valley School. There are no guarantees that the employee will be called to work.

Department: Student Services/Brook Valley Schools

FLSA Status: Exempt

Immediate Supervisor: Brook Valley Principal

Staff Supervised: None

Program Philosophy
Brook Valley School embraces several different philosophical approaches while serving children with severe special needs. The main element is Verbal Behavior Programming which includes: ABLLS (Assessment of Basic Language & Learning Skills), AFLS (Assessment of Functional Language Skills), Zones of Regulation, BIST (Behavior Intervention Support Team), and TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention)

Essential Requirements:

No history of child abuse or negligence.

Must hold a valid Nebraska teaching certificate and placed on file in the ESU #3 Business Services Department by the Substitute Teacher.

Ability to instruct and manage students.

Ability to work with parents and staff.

Ability to be an effective communicator with organizational and interpersonal skills.

Possess flexibility in job assignments.

Must be punctual and dependable.

Must display a professional attitude.

Successfully pass required background checks.

Essential Responsibilities:

Understand and comply with the ESU #3 Board of Education Personnel Policies and Employee Handbook.

Understand and comply with the Brook Valley’s Handbook.

Other duties as assigned.

At Will Employment: Employment with ESU #3 is not for any period of time, and employment may be terminated at any time at the convenience of the terminating party, with or without cause, and with or without notice.
