Job Description for School Safety Specialist

To support the vision, mission and strategic priorities of ESC Region 12 and to provide training in the following areas to Region 12 districts to further meet the needs of students.

• Collaborate with and provide professional development to assist and support school disticts in understanding the school safety requirements and meet those requirements
• Provide training and coordination in areas noted above
• Keep Region 12 districts abreast of relative current trends, issues, and legislation related to school safety

Education/Certification

• Master's degree, preferred
• Valid Texas teaching certificate

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Experience in public education
• At least 3 years of relevant experience
• Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
• Experience in blended learning
• Excellent organization and communication skills
• Positive attitude, self-starter, and team player
