Education Affiliates is Hiring an Instructional Technology Specialist Near Centerville, OH

The Instructional Technology Specialist primarily provides support for faculty and staff in the development, design, and delivery of blended and online courses within the Learning Management System (LMS). This position provides professional training regarding LMS tools and various instructional technologies to course developers, staff, and faculty to ensure quality of experience. The Instructional Technology Specialist develops strategies for technology implementation, support path workflow, qualitative assessment of existing education technologies, as well as deployment methodologies

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Administrator experience working within Canvas LMS
  • Experience working with Rest APIs
  • Experience working with JavaScript, Python, or other object-oriented programming languages
  • Experience teaching online courses at a higher education institution

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Tests and administers users, courses, and integration technologies within the LMS.
  • Maintains course inventories.
  • Provides support to faculty and staff within the LMS and escalates support issues to Canvas Support and other support resources as necessary.
  • Deploys new technologies within our beta and test environments for testing and completes User Authentication Testing (UAT).
  • Develops and delivers training sessions and supporting documentation based on current and future technologies.
  • Facilitates communication with vendor implementation managers and engineers to ensure timely completion of new technology integration and timely resolution of technology-related issues.
  • Conducts research and performs data analysis relating to the effectiveness of deployed technologies and support relating to those technologies.
  • Develops and delivers communication to faculty and staff relating to emerging and deployed technologies.
  • Maintains proficiency in technologies required as a condition of the role and completes professional development annually in furtherance of those skills.

Classification: Exempt

Work Hours: Minimum of a five day workweek; some evenings and weekends as required
