The Solutions Engineer is an essential part of the OEM Sales Teams. The entry level Solutions Engineer I primarily acts as the technical liaison between customers and global Edmund Optics manufacturing sites for custom and modified optical components. Solutions Engineers I are also responsible for providing technical engineering support for managed and key unmanaged accounts. Additionally, Solutions Engineers I rely on instructions and established guidelines to perform job functions such as reviewing incoming custom requests for quote (RFQs), ensuring the technical and business feasibility of such requests, and working to establish market-competitive pricing and closing the sale.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, optics, physics, or hard science; optics industry and/or manufacturing knowledge highly desirable; two (2) to five (5) years experience in technical and/or business-to-business sales environment is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to operate office equipment such as a copier; ability to sit at desk or PC for long periods of time; work in office setting.
