POSITION OVERVIEW

About the Position

 Performs a wide range of duties involved with preparing and/or serving food and beverages. May perform such duties as preparing hot foods and/or cold foods, assist in cleaning work areas, equipment and utensils. May assist in the set-up and service; and collection of garbage/trash; as appropriate to the area of operation. May serve food to students and/or perform cashiering duties, as appropriate.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience

• 6 months customer service experience

Other Requirements

• Must posses or have the ability to possess a valid Arizona Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card by the time of hire.
• Must be able to possess a valid food handlers license

Preferred Requirements

• 1 or more years working with POS system.

ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS

Essential Functions:

• May assist with quantity food preparation
• Follows prescribed procedures in setting up hot and cold food
• May assist with the daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and to ensure sanitary conditions are met
• May assist with stocking and replenishing of supplies
• May assist with operation of kitchen equipment
• Sets up and breaks down serving lines and/or catering events (salad bar, hot food etc.)
• Counts money, makes change, completes related reports and operates cash register, as needed
• Manages inventory
• Works with catering company for food and milk ordering (only at specific locations)
• Oversee portion sizes (only at specific locations)
• May clean and maintain work areas, including floors, facilities, utensils and equipment
• Attends to day-to-day problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies; detects and ensures disposition of spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies/equipment, and/or other unusual conditions

Other functions of the job include but are not limited to the following:

• Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students and families from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic math skills
• Other duties as assigned by school principal
• Detail oriented; capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get task done
• Ability to make an impact and inspire others to perform well

Working Conditions

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, crouch, bend, walking up and down stairs/ramps, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
