RATE OF PAY: Per-diem rate or $45/hr (Whichever is greater)Benefit Information

This position will remain open until filled. Tumwater School District reserves the right to make a hiring decision at any time after the initial screening after 4 PM on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. It is in the applicant's best interest to submit materials as soon as possible.

QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate, with endorsement(s) in science and/ormath preferred. Coding & Minecraft Certification needed for that course only. Criminal justice fingerprint clearance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan, implement, and evaluate classroom instruction and activity programs in grades 9 - 12 consistent with building and district curriculum
• Utilize Washington State 2013 K-12 Science Learning Standards
• Prescribe learning and training programs for individual pupils based on student aptitude, interest, and achievement levels
• Provide for individual needs of assigned students
• Support struggling learners and provide differentiation opportunities for credit retrieval
• Cooperate with summer school administrator and staff in implementation of comprehensive instructional programs
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as an instructional team member
• Develop instructional goals and objectives to meet teaching assignment
• Participate in building and district in-service education/training programs
• Attend building/district meetings and conferences as required
• Other duties as assigned

DESIRED BACKGROUND/SKILLS:

• At minimum, a developing proficiency level of understanding of mastery-based learning
• Strong skills and background in instructional methods and strategies
• Ability to integrate core content of various disciplines using a variety of teaching materials and strategies
• Manage behavior of students to maximize learning

• Demonstrated proficiency in writing and oral communication skills
• Ability to participate successfully in team planning, programming, and instructional activities, to include community partners
• Ability to develop, modify, and adjust curriculum to meet the individual needs
• Ability to establish rapport with students, colleagues, and support staff
