Reporting directly to the Director of Facilities Operations, the Maintenance Manager and Technician - Plumbing/Piping Systems is responsible for varied aspects of building maintenance but primary emphasis is on maintenance and repair of plumbing and piping systems. This position is designed for a technician who can work both as a team member and independently without direct supervision in order to improve the overall maintenance and repair of various plumbing and piping systems in multiple buildings. Strong customer service skills are essential. Successful candidates will have a good work ethic, possess good attitude and initiative and the desire to continually improve process and performance in the Facilities Operations department.
Responsibilities:
Primary technician in charge of all aspects of effective and efficient operation of campus plumbing and piping systems components including tanks, faucets, aerators, sediment traps, main water lines to buildings, hydrants, etc.
Perform duties of preventative and responsive maintenance on equipment and building systems. This could include one or more of the following areas depending upon talent and expertise:
Depending upon areas of expertise, provide training and oversight to other maintenance technicians or student workers at the request of the Maintenance Manager or the Director.
