Edgewood Center for Children and Families is Hiring a Bilingual Spanish Speaking Per Diem Clinician Near San Mateo, CA

Based on the CDPH public health mandate, all candidates for positions at Edgewood Center must provide proof of vaccination. Edgewood Center for Children and Families (“Edgewood”) is the place to begin for any child or youth to get the mental health care, social services, and academic support they need from highly trained, welcoming professionals.
Bilingual Spanish Speaking Per Diem Clinician - This is a non-exempt position, five hours a week, and hybrid-remote and in person when needed..
Position Summary
Provides individual, group, and family mental health treatment, depending on the needs of the clients served in the Kinship program, with an emphasis on serving Spanish speaking kinship family members.
Mental health treatment planning and coordination
Core Competencies
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills with primary age group served and family involved
  • Effectively demonstrates ability to assess clients and identify dynamics, diagnostic elements and provide therapy to clients.
  • Identifies when families are in crisis and identifies safety plan to assist client through crisis as clinically appropriate.
  • Maintains professional boundaries and presentation as well as confidentiality.
  • Effectively communicates client/family issues with team members on care team.
  • Documentation is: timely, thorough and follows specific format.
  • Completes assessments, progress notes and treatment plans within specified timeline; includes all elements required for the youth’s file.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to the cultural diversity of employees and clients.
Essential Functions
  • Provides individual and/or group therapy to Kinship children and if determined necessary, the family.
  • Maintains confidential mental health records for each youth on caseload
  • Develops and implements short term youth/family treatment model.
  • Provides consultation to case managers and other Kinship staff regarding mental health with Kinship youth/family they are working with.
  • Provides urgent and emergent assessment, intervention, consultation, and support as needed to Kinship families.
Applied Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Clinical license or license eligible preferred.
  • 2-3 years professional clinical experience
  • Experience working with minority, adult/geriatric and pediatric populations preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability in working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Valid California driver’s license
  • Willing to travel and work some evenings and weekends
The hourly rate range for this position is: $49.50-$49.50.
