Nuclear Safety Professional opportunity in
Richland, WA to support the
Waste Treatment Plant at the
Hanford Site.Work Location: On-site at project office
Schedule: 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off
Citizenship: United States Citizenship Required
PROJECT OVERVIEW:Supports the HLW Nuclear Safety Engineering Team for completion of the HLW design and construction activities. Independently performs complex professional engineering assignments as directed by the HLW Nuclear Safety Program Supervisor.
Responsibilities- Performance of Engineering Document Reviews
- Development of Safety Evaluations for potential design changes
- Support of development of PDSA changes supporting engineering design changes
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLSBasic Qualifications:- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, nuclear engineering, or other engineering fields from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with DOE nuclear projects safety basis development, or commercial nuclear power plant licensing or analysis.
- Knowledge in nuclear safety/engineering.
- Experience with implementation of the Unreviewed Safety Question (USQ) or Safety Evaluation (SE) processes
Minimum Qualifications:- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
- Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge)
- Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:- Knowledge of WTP design or Hanford facilities

CompensationSalary is commensurate with education, experience, and unique qualifications, and may range between $40 to $100 hourly.
