Edgewater Technical Associates is Hiring a Junior Cost Analyst Near Carlsbad, NM

Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Junior Cost Analyst opportunity to support our customer at the WIPP Facility outside of Carlsbad, NM.
Per diem is available for those who qualify.
Work location is on-site at WIPP
The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is the nation’s only permanent nuclear waste repository for defense-generated transuranic (TRU) waste generated from Department of Energy (DOE) sites across the country. Waste is permanently isolated over 2,000 feet underground in deep salt beds.
The successful candidate will perform a variety of basic cost and schedule duties applying planning and control techniques in accordance with established procedures. Analyze cost and schedule performance, against the planned budget and provide the CAM preliminary performance data on a monthly basis (Cost and Schedule variance preparation). Assist the CAM in preparing Estimates to Complete. Process journals/corrections due to charging errors (cost or timesheet). Assist the CAM in preparing documentation to support proposed baseline changes. Programmatic Change Control form and before and after documentation. Assist Control Account Manager (CAM) in development and maintenance of Cost Estimating Data sheets. Interface with other cost analysts and departments in problem resolution or system and process improvements. Utilize project schedules to understand upcoming planned work. Assist in the preparation and distribution of basic data reports used by CAM to manage assigned scope. Support standard and ad-hoc report development. Perform account reconciliation for multiple projects.
Non-Exempt Salary Grade (24)
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate’s Degree in a relevant field with two (2) years of related experience, or
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency with four (4) years of relevant experience is required.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel is mandatory.
  • Must be able to analyze data and be able to work in a fast paced environment with deadlines.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends in support of month end closing activities and special projects.
  • Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must be US Citizens.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preference given to candidates that are self-motivated, detail oriented with excellent organization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills are desired, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Able to easily learn different software tools and systems is preferred.
  • Previous WIPP Project experience is a plus.
