ABOUT US: 

Originally built for the 1962 World's Fair, The Edgewater Hotel has marked its place in history as the host to many famous names in the music scene from The Beatles to Blondie. Embraced by Elliott Bay, The Edgewater stands watch over the Olympic Mountains and Seattle skyline. Practically floating on water, the hotel boasts an authentic Pacific Northwest experience including aluminum exteriors, natural wood interiors and river-rock fireplaces. This classic landmark is defined through its culture and distinctive atmosphere.

Description:

At the Edgewater our Brim is the go to place for guests who want to get a perfectly pulled Espresso Drink, a quick on the go bite or some specially curated Seattle finds. As part of our Brim team, you'll not only rock the espresso machine as a top-notch barista, but you'll also become a retail wizard, dazzling customers with your product expertise and infectiously enthusiastic conversations!

A day in the life...

  • Customer Service Excellence: Provide friendly, personalized service to every customer who enters the Brim. Greet visitors warmly, assist them in selecting products, and engage in genuine conversations to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Coffee Crafting: Master the art of coffee preparation, including espresso-based beverages, drip coffee, and specialty drinks. Ensure each cup is brewed to perfection, maintaining consistency in flavor and presentation.
  • Product Knowledge: Become an expert on the products offered in the Brim, including their features, benefits, and origins. Educate customers about our merchandise, guiding them in making informed purchasing decisions.
  • Merchandising and Display: Assist in maintaining attractive displays and organizing merchandise to maximize visibility and appeal. Ensure products are properly stocked, labeled, and priced, contributing to a visually appealing and organized store environment.
  • Cash Handling and Transactions: Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system. Handle cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment with integrity and attention to detail.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Take pride in keeping the Brim and coffee station clean, tidy, and well-maintained. Perform routine cleaning tasks, such as wiping counters, restocking supplies, and sanitizing equipment.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with fellow associates and team members to achieve shared goals and deliver exceptional service. Communicate effectively and support each other in providing a seamless customer experience.
  • Promoting Brand Values: Embody the values and ethos of our brand through your interactions with customers and your dedication to delivering high-quality products and service. Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere that reflects our brand identity.

Shift: Full availability, weekends, & holidays

Pay: $23.00/HR

Requirements

  • Previous experience in retail sales and customer service, preferably in retail or boutique environment.
  • Barista experience and proficiency in coffee preparation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for engaging with customers.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
