Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to support the IT program at a major national laboratory. Our client is undertaking a software delivery transformation initiative utilizing both modern cloud platforms and DevSecOps practices - using a modern tooling. As a core part of initiative, the Platform Team is responsible for providing software delivery as a service to developers across the institution.
We are seeking a founding engineer with proven/documented experience in related fields. The primary objective of this position is to help shape the be delivered across the lab. Ideally, the successful candidate will have led or participated in a previous DevOps transformation to the cloud.
- Scale organization wide practices around our Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, and 10-15 years of experience
- In lieu of a degree, additional relevant experience may be applicable.
- U.S. Citizenship is required per contract.
- Experience of administering and managing Linux systems at scale, to include:
- Package management and automation
- Expertise with networking design, implementation, and operations
- Proficient knowledge of authentication and authorization technologies
- Advanced knowledge of various infrastructure methodologies such as security, name services, and so on.
- Experience in the following:
- Python or Go Programming
- Agile & LEAN Principles and Practices
- Software Development Lifecycle
- Continuous Delivery
- Managing Infrastructure at Scale
- Amazon Web Services
- OWASP Principles and Practices
- Experience working in a constrained, high security environment such as FedRAMP High, PCI, HIPAA or Sarbanes-Oxley
- Metrics, Monitoring, and Observability
- Experience working in a Site Reliability Engineering function
- Awareness of Cloud Native Computing Foundation Projects and Principles
- GitLab
- Experience implementing and using IaC technologies such as Terraform
