Job Title: Bakery Processing Team Lead

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Bakery Processing Department Team Lead. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating a team of 6-8 individuals in the processing and packaging of baked goods. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for ensuring the highest standards of quality of all bakery products and team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of 6-8 employees in the bakery processing department.
  • Production Coordination: Coordinate and oversee the processing and packaging of baked goods according to production schedules and quality standards.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain various machinery and equipment used in bakery processing. Provide training to team members on equipment operation and safety protocols.
  • Quality Monitoring: Monitor product quality throughout the production process. Log variances and take corrective action as needed to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Food Safety Compliance: Enforce food safety practices and regulations to maintain a clean and sanitary work environment. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in inventory management by monitoring ingredient levels and reporting shortages or discrepancies to management.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate production records, including production output, quality control checks, and equipment maintenance logs. Prepare and submit reports to management as required.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings. Implement new procedures or techniques to optimize efficiency and productivity in the bakery processing department.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in bakery processing techniques and safety procedures.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other department leads and the plant manager to ensure smooth operation and coordination across all areas of production.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in bakery production or food manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred.
  • Strong ability to diagnose problems and solve them under pressure.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and standards
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in food science or a related field preferred.
