Scope of Position

PowerFlex, an EDF Renewables company, is a leading national provider of intelligent onsite energy solutions that support carbon-free electrification and transportation. Through the comprehensive PowerFlex X platform, PowerFlex leverages patented smart software to control, monitor, and optimize a client's distributed energy resources to reduce cost and maximize return on investment.

PowerFlex is now accepting applications for an engineering intern to work alongside the Project Management and Operations team. The qualified candidate should be bright and hard-working, with a strong interest in construction management and renewable energy. The intern will be exposed to all aspects of commercial solar, EVSE and storage projects including business development, project financing, project engineering, with a focus on solar project construction management and operations. 

This is a paid position with potential for full-time employment based on evaluation of work performance. While this position is located in our Los Angeles or San Diego, CA office, the eligible candidate can work remotely on an interim basis. This ideal candidate will be available to work 20 hours per week. 

Responsibilities

• Help design and engineer commercial scale solar PV projects
• Learn to perform production analysis for PV systems
• Performance analysis current systems in the field
• Help inspect and field service current systems

Qualifications

• Available to work for at least 20 hours/week (Office hours are generally from 9 am- 6 pm, and flexible hours are allowed)
• Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering or Science
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Excel, energy simulation experience is a plus
• Basic understanding of photovoltaic systems and electrical components

Education/Experience –

• Currently pursuing or holds a Bachelor’s Degree related to renewable energy, business management, sustainability, construction management, engineering or the equivalent.
