Job Overview

The Lawn Care Supervisor must be knowledgeable of typical grass cutting procedures and maintain a high degree of skill in executing task such as mowing, edging, weed eating, blowing, identifying grass disease and understanding best chemical application practices. The Lawn Care Supervisor is a position that manages a crew of 1 to 2 persons. The ideal candidate should be a good communicator and have strong leadership skill and experience, as well as posses excellent customer service skill and experience. The Lawn Care Supervisor should possess a valid LA drivers license and be able to drive large box trucks to include safe operation and handling of trailers and equipment. The Lawn Care Supervisor should be well able to maintain a job environment that is safe and report any accidents of job hazards to the Maintenance Department Manager. The Lawn Care Supervisor must be able to learn and adopt all EdenScapes policies, procedures and trade skill industry standards required to execute quality lawn care services.

Reports to: Maintenance Field Manager.

• Holiday Lighting: During the winter months, many of the lawn care team members assist with Holiday Lighting. This would be a seasonal task and something that the Lawn Care Supervisor would be expected to participate in and learn during the cooler months.

Job Responsibilities:

• Managing and directing a crew (typically 2-3 persons), to comply with the company's productivity requirements, policies, and safety regulations.
• Mowing and cutting lawn using differently sized power mowers including both walk behinds and ride on mowers.
• String trimming and edging lawns/ground cover using a gas powered edger/trimmer.
• Operating a gas-powered blower for debris cleanup.
• Trimming shrubs, grasses, ground covers and small trees to shape and improve growth.
• Removing damaged leaves, branches, or twigs using either hand pruners, shears, loppers, handsaws or gas powered hedge trimmers.
• Communicating jobsite or personnel concerns to direct report and being apart of the work to find solutions.
• Communicating certain aspects of the job to customers and knowing when to get the maintenance department manager involved.
• Driving company trucks safely and maintaining the integrity of all equipment, to include regular maintenance.
• Manage jobs and complete within budgeted time allotted.

Qualifications:

• 1 year of Professional Lawn Service experience and some Supervisory experience in any field
• Experience with jobsite/crew management
• Must have excellent people skills in dealing with managers, crewmembers and customers
• Must have current/valid driver's license, driving trucks & trailers is a must
• Must be able to lift 50lbs and carry for 50 ft.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a big plus.
