About Edd's & Flo's Artisan Bakery Cafe from Wish You Well LLC

Wish You Well was a socially-conscious bakery business that launched online during the pandemic. We officially opened our brick and mortar bakery at 47 N. Queen Street in Lancaster, PA on June 30, 2021. After 2.5 years of operating our shop, we rebranded our business and transformed our space in April of 2024.

As Edd's & Flo's Artisan Bakery Cafe, we offer bagels and sandwiches, pastries, and Square One Coffee and espresso. Our bagels and baked goods are made from scratch in-house with intentionally-sourced ingredients.

Our bakery wouldn't exist without support from our community. Our neighbors are small business owners, producers, and workers who rely on support from us, too. That's why we source ingredients from local small businesses, local producers, and local purveyors as often as possible.

AS BAKERS
Our baked goods are made in-house from scratch incorporating locally-milled flour and a methodical approach, and we offer items that are seasonal, nostalgic, and inspired by our experience working with various international cuisines.

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Weekend Sandwich Maker to join our team. In this role, you will assemble sandwiches to order during our busy weekend service, assist with food prep as needed, and assist with cleaning tasks and dish washing. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in the food service industry who are looking to gain experience in a professional kitchen environment.

Shifts Available:

Saturdays & Sundays from 7:30am - 2:30/3pm

This position currently requires a commitment to working Saturdays AND Sundays every weekend.

Candidates interested in more hours may also be considered for our Kitchen Assistant position

Responsibilities:
- Set up sandwich station for service

- Assemble sandwiches to order according to base recipes and customer modifications

- Prep sandwich station components as needed by following established recipes and systems
- Maintain station cleanliness and organization
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment by hand in a three-basin sink
- Assist with support tasks including cleaning and sanitizing bakery trays

- Break down and clean sandwich station at the end of service

- Assist with closing tasks including sweeping and mopping
- Adhere to all food handling and safety guidelines
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation

Experience & Job Requirements:
- Previous experience in professional kitchen environment is preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods is a plus
- Basic knife skills are required

- Ability to operate a deli slicer and mixer - we can provide training, but candidates must be 18

- Ability to balance product quality with speed of service
- Attention to detail
- Strong communication skills

- Effective multi-tasking

- Basic math skills

- Time management
