Edcoat is Hiring a Production Shift Supervisor (Night Shift) - 2-2-3 schedule Near Carlisle, IN

The Shift Supervisor is a key member of the EDCOAT Manufacturing team. This full-time, exempt position is based in New Carlisle and reports to the Sr. Production Manager. As the front-line manager, this position works closely with the production lead, and is responsible for the planning, organizing and to control the production of both paint lines and slitting to ensure that the required products are safely produced with the expected quality, lead time, and cost to meet all manufacturing goals. This position is also responsible for the shipping and receiving operations.

What is the schedule?

  • EDCOAT utilizes four crews on a 2-2-3 to allow for 24/7 operations.
    • A/B (Days) 4am-4pm EST
    • C/D (Nights) 4pm-4am EST
  • The schedule follows a 14-day repetitive cycle with employees working 12-hour shifts as follows: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages the workflow of their team members, creating team schedules, providing coaching, direction and delegates tasks
  • Assures that all safety rules are followed and that all machines, and employees are operating in a safe manner
  • Ensures that the plant is maintained in a clean and safe condition
  • Assures that all machines are operating properly to produce quality products and that all products are produced to required quality levels
  • Recommends changes in policy, procedures, and equipment to improve quality
  • Interviews potential team members to make hiring recommendations
  • Reports and documents employee performance and evaluations to HR and senior management while setting individuals goals to meet department and company goals
  • Recommends and executes disciplinary action required to correct any behavioral, quality and attendance issues
  • Coaches and mentors through training expectations, checking in with new hires, developing team members for growth and succession planning
  • Assists Sr. Production Manager with development and training of Operators
  • Manages production leads and team members in all manufacturing areas
  • Corrects any issues through maintenance, training, meetings, or other actions as needed.
  • Assures that all product quality testing is completed and recorded
  • Schedules and monitors production to provide product to customers on time
  • Assures that all machines are operating properly to produce the required products
  • Oversee general shipping activities
  • Recommends changes in policy, procedures, and equipment to improve delivery
  • Assures that all production records are completed
  • Assures that business goals, deadlines and performance standards are met

Qualifications

  • Minimum: High School Diploma
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, engineering, industrial technology
  • 3 to 5 years supervisory experience in manufacturing or similar field
  • Lean Manufacturing methodology
  • Microsoft Office and ERP experience
