About ECU Health Beaufort Hospital, a campus of ECU Health Medical Center
ECU Health Beaufort Hospital is located in Washington and serves as a campus ECU Health Medical Center, our Level I Trauma Center in Greenville. The 142-bed full-service hospital offers a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services including medical, surgical, intensive care, emergency, pediatrics and women's services. In addition there is a lab, diagnostic imaging services, physical and respiratory therapy. The facility also features the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, offering leading-edge chemotherapy and radiation therapy, among other cancer services.
Position Summary
Plan, implement, supervise, and monitor exercise prescription and progression in groups and one on one. Educate, motivate, monitor and assist customers/patients to assure safety and a positive experience. Cultivate a customer/patient and family centered approach by including goals and wishes of the participant/patient in the exercise programming/prescription. May serve as team leader for specialty program of expertise.
Responsibilities
Perform assessments according to protocol, develop exercise prescriptions and interventions to meet individual needs across a range of demographics and health levels, educate and motivate customer/patients on results and personal plan.
Provide safe and effective individual or group instruction through verbal and demonstration of equipment and techniques, monitoring participants, coaching on modifications, progression and corrective measures while creating and maintaining an atmosphere conducive to motivation, learning and fun. Closely supervise, assist and be accessible to customers/patients to assure safety and a positive experience. . Evaluate and adjust to promote participant progression and outcomes based on customer/patient response.
May be responsible for a program or assigned project or research to lead, design, evaluate, and drive team and patient/participant engagement.
Serve as a coach, engage customers/patients in their plan of care, actively seek out opportunities to motivate and educate, navigate to resources, and promote high engagement to drive usage, compliance, outcomes and experience. As appropriate, participate in interdisciplinary meetings and communications with providers and care teams to discuss progress and ensure customer/patient safety and continuity of care. Document as appropriate.
Model mission, vision and values; follow policies and procedures; actively contribute to organizational goals, promotion of services, team engagement, productivity and experience, customer experience and retention, process and quality improvement initiatives. Maintain certifications and stay abreast of industry advances, research and best practices. Assist with safety, cleanliness, and appearance of equipment and facilities.
Minimum Requirements
Master's Degree or higher
NCCA accredited certification
Approved Specialty Certification from approved, accredited, national organization for specialty instruction.
Three to four years related experience
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
