ECU Health is Hiring a Medical Laboratory Technician I (MLT) Near Ahoskie, NC
Ahoskie, NC is ideally located an hour from the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area and two hours from Raleigh, Richmond, Williamsburg, and the beautiful Outer Banks of NC. Ahoskie offers a moderate cost of living, a strong sense of community, and a temperate climate and location to support a variety of year round outdoor activities, such as boating, kayaking, hunting, fishing, hiking, and golf.
Position SummaryThe Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) performs clinical laboratory tests by standard operating policies and procedures. Understands method principles, performs quality control & calibrations, performs preventive maintenance, and analyzes results as to accuracy, acceptability and critical limits.
Minimum Requirements
- Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or currently enrolled in an accredited Clinical Laboratory Science Program (BS) and have completed the specific laboratory rotation (e.g. Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, and Transfusion Services)
- Equivalent laboratory training and/or work experience with the US military (2 years) will meet the education requirement
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP or other nationally recognized certifying agency
- 36 hours a week
- 3 (12 hour) shifts: 7 pm - 7:30 am
- Friday - Sunday
