Position Summary

The Director of Digital Health Innovation and Transformation is part of the Digital Health & Innovation team at ECU Health Information Services (IS). This position provides operational leadership and oversight of projects identified by the Digital Health and Innovation team leadership and reports to the Chief Medical Informatics and Digital Health Officer. To continue the pursuit of innovation across ECU Health, the Director of Digital Health Innovation and Transformation will serve as an engaged and collaborative leader of a multi-disciplinary team that collectively aims to identify, rigorously evaluate, and facilitate the implementation of emerging technology to achieve excellence across digital health, research, and innovation domains.

Responsibilities

  • Closely partner with the CMIDHO to develop and execute a strategic vision and plan for embedding a culture of innovation and use of novel technologies across ECU Health.
  • Effectively manage and lead cross-functional teams with an excellent ability to build consensus and a unified vision across stakeholder groups spanning physician and nursing leadership, executive leadership, researchers, and IT vendors.
  • Expert communicator and champion for building engagement and alignment of digital health priorities across ECU health
  • Builds and maintains relationships with key technology vendors and partnering health systems actively participating in the digital health market. Keeps up to date on developing trends and opportunities for new partnerships and emerging technology in the digital health space.
  • Lead efforts to ensure accurate and ongoing measurement and accountability for measures of success, along with defining key performance indicators (KPIs) across the digital health and innovation team.
  • Works closely and collaboratively with innovation team leadership, product manager, and project managers for the successful launch and implementation of digital health products, applications, or services at ECU Health.
  • For initiatives or projects involving digital health technology, leads structured vendor evaluation including facilitating demonstrations, eliciting structured feedback from different stakeholders, as well as completing of return on investment (ROI) projections in coordination with financial analyst.
  • Direct supervision of members of the digital health and innovation team staff. Director must be strongly committed to creating a supportive work environment with special emphasis toward professional development and career advancement of team members.
  • Develop and manage budgets and resource management plans to ensure innovation project deliverables are completed on time and within budget.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5 years of progressive digital health leadership experience in senior IT or healthcare leadership role.
  • Working knowledge of software development methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills, including leading presentations to executive leadership and leadership of partnering organizations.
  • Strong understanding of health IT data privacy and security practices.
