Position Summary

Perform clinical support services, assist with secretarial/clerical duties and maintain patient care documentation in medical records.

Responsibilities

1. Maintains all patient care related documentation in patients' medical records in a timely manner.

  • Verifies consistency and accuracy of clinical information entered into patient charts.
  • Prepares charts, maintains and updates forms and prepares documentation paperwork.
  • Maintains and monitors medical record documentation and filing. Correctly files all patient documentation verifying accuracy and completion of content.

2. Responsible for various secretarial, clerical and receptionist activities.

  • Answer phones, greet patients, screen calls. Schedule patient appointments.
  • Assist with charge entry on a timely basis.
  • Purchase and distribute office and medical supplies.

3. Perform clinical support services within protocol and upon completion of proper training and competency evaluation.

  • Assist medical providers with patient care services as requested.
  • Perform health screenings (vision, blood pressure, weight and vitals), collect blood collection and/or phlebotomy blood collection for lab tests.
  • Collect health risk appraisals and/or patient histories.

Minimum Requirements

Requirements

  • HS graduate or equivalent (or higher) required.
  • American Heart Association BLS Required
    • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Substitution: Formal medical assistant or nursing aide training may be substituted with six months current full time experience in the clinical setting as a Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or CNA.

Preferred Requirements

One to two years of formal medical assistant or nurse aide training preferred.
