ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Position Summary

The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for Program Planning, Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Quality Assurance, Staff Development, Collaboration with Medical Staff, Hospital Departments and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Accountability for patient placement and bed utilization.
• Initiates, monitors and/or participates in program development, implementation, evaluation and revisions.
• Promotes public relations to increase customer awareness of services provided.
• Acts on behalf of the Hospital administrative staff to coordinate hospital services by making decisions that positively impact patient care.
• Has the power to implement decisions that are made and is the final authority in the hospital during the absence of the unit managers and administration.
• Provides written policies and procedures, keep job descriptions current, and maintain other important documentation.
• Counsels, supports, and mentor unit staff with decision making and strategizing how to best provide care to current and potential patients.

Minimum Requirements

• BSN or higher required
• NC RN license required.
• American Heart Association BLS or Heart Saver is required.
• Five years of clinical experience, with at least one year of management or leadership experience is required.
• Evidence of progressive leadership qualities is required.

Shift: Rotating 7A and 7P, Weekends included
