ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the System Vice President of Pharmacy, the Director of Retail and Ambulatory Pharmacy (DRAP) will be a foundational member of a high performance Pharmacy Leadership team and provide organization leadership in the delivery of retail and ambulatory pharmacy related services across ECU Health System.
Responsibilities
Responsible for ECU Health Retail Pharmacy Operations, Specialty Pharmacy, Employee Pharmacy Operations, Home Infusion and the Pharmacy Distribution Center Operations.
Responsible for linking the Federal 340B including contract pharmacy arrangement programming with primary care by building relationships internally and externally.
This position will have matrix collaboration with the Director of Clinical Pharmacy for Primary Care Clinic Operations. Will also be responsible for the quality assurance activities related to 340B requirements rules and regulations and be responsible to insure activities relating to monitoring of the programs.
Responsible for the development and use of analysis and feedback of clinical performance measurement indicators processes and audits particularly in specialty pharmacy.
Champions the principals of pharmaceutical care in drug therapy management.
Manages and leads staff, which includes other pharmacists and pharmacy techs and may be called upon to perform all the functions of a pharmacist during extenuating circumstances.
Will also oversee the external contract pharmacies in collaboration with 340b Compliance Manager.
Ensures that strong performance metrics are in place to regularly monitor impact evaluation of all partnerships and resources.
Knowledge of organizational services, operations, policies and strategic goals are required to fulfill the objectives of the leadership position.
Will work closely with the VP of Pharmacy to build and maintain a strong positive presence, reputation and provide for the pharmacy needs of the citizens of Eastern North Carolina..
Performance in this position will be judged by the quality of overall results achieved, and the manners in which the results are achieved conforming to the values of ECU Health.
Minimum Requirements
BS in Pharmacy and completion of a Master's Level Degree, or completion of Doctor of Pharmacy Program from an accredited university
Minimum of 5 years of healthcare management experience
Eligible for Licensure as a pharmacist in the State of North Carolina
3 years of progressively more responsible purchasing, negotiating, inventory control, and, pharmacy financial analysis work experience is preferred
Completion of an ASHP accredited residency program preferred
Proven experience with 340B programs and compliance
Proven experience with in-house and contracted pharmacies
Retail pharmacy experience preferred
