Position Summary

The Materials Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the ordering, receiving, and maintaining a sufficient inventory of supplies and instruments, etc.

Responsibilities

Purchasing Supplies and Instruments
1. Select vendors in purchasing items.
2. Get competitive pricing for items.
3. Check prices on items.
4. Order specialty items when needed.
5. Ability to order capital instruments and equipment.
6. Negotiate with sales representative in getting quality items at the best
price.
7. Use the bid process in pricing and purchasing of new instruments.
Receiving Materials
1. Receive items from vendors, check the packing slip and reconcile differences between items listed on packing slip.
2. Return damaged items to vendor.
3. Send broken instruments to vendors for repair.
4. Resolve back orders.
Inventory
1. Maintain records for all purchases.
2. Responsible for an annual inventory.
3. Perform cycle counts on items in bulk storage and central supply on a monthly basis.
Equipment
1. Handle loaner equipment to be used within the facility.
2. Have new and loaner equipment checked by Bio-Med.
3. Perform evaluations on new equipment when needed.
4. Responsible for quality control checks on isotope equipment and verifies no leakage of radioactive material.
Nursing Stations and OR
1. Distribute stock to the nursing stations using the Peoplesoft system.
2. Handle back orders to nursing stations.
3. Utilize computer system to maintain preference list, pick tickets, etc for OR.
4. Use the computer system to issue and audit inventory from the operating room and enter into the computer system.

Minimum Requirements

Professional
a. High school diploma or equivalent
b. 2 yrs experience in a comparable position
c. Computer skills
Other Information:
Lifting and bending activities
Must be physically fit and able to do heavy lifting 50 lbs
High level of competence
Other duties as assigned.
