Religious Education Coordinator (Protestant Community) – $18.00-$23.00 per hour– Shaw, SC
The Role

We are seeking a Religious Education Coordinator (Protestant community) to oversee and enhance our religious education programs at Shaw AFB. This role involves coordinating closely with the Protestant Chaplain to develop and execute educational programs and events that reflect our community values and spiritual goals.
This is a part-time, contract 1099 vacancy working approximately 20 hours per week.
Contract= 5yrs/6months

20 hrs. per week (Sun thru Sat-to include weekday and weekend office hours).

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and schedule a yearly calendar of religious education events including Sunday school, retreats, and seasonal programs.
• Collaborate with the Protestant Community to organize and manage events such as family retreats and Protestant camps.
• Manage administrative duties including the preparation of publicity materials, curriculum requests, and budget coordination.
• Ensure compliance with all military and Air Force policies relevant to religious programs.
• Maintain effective communication and relationships with chapel staff, volunteers, and the community.

The Person

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in education and/or a minimum of two years’ experience as a Director of Religious Education (DRE)/Religious Education Coordinator (REC) in military chapels or churches with a program consisting of preschool children through adults.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills.
• Has a Pastoral reference to the Chaplain Corps prior to award of the contract for the purpose of validating good standing.
• Have proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with administrative and budget management.
• Display excellent communication skills and the ability to work unsupervised in a dynamic environment.
• Have a clean criminal background and a commitment to maintaining high professional standards.
