Compensation
$25-$30/hr, negotiable upon expertise & experience level

Reports To
The Mechanical Designer / CAD Drafter will be a key member of the Engineering / Products Team and will report to the Engineering Manager. This position will also work closely with others on the Engineering Team, specifically the Product Engineer and Manufacturing Engineer.

With four patents granted by the USPTO and others pending both domestically and internationally, EcoVapor prioritizes creation and protection of intellectual property.

We are headquartered in Denver, CO, and operate out of service centers located in Greeley, CO and Midland, TX to maintain more than 300 units now operating in the field. Operations are growing quickly in scale by both customer and unit count and geographic area across the Lower 48 in the US.

Job Description

As part of the EcoVapor engineering team, the Mechanical Designer will assist the Product Engineer in the design, development, and sustainment of new and legacy products through the creation of comprehensive 3D designs, fabrication drawings, 2D layout drawings, and conceptual 2D diagrams. This person is also to assist sales with product concept generation and CAD related product marketing efforts (renders, animations, etc).

While success in this position will require working collaboratively, self reliance is also valued at EcoVapor. The ability to manage your way to a set objective is a requirement for success in this role.

Primary Location
EcoVapor Headquarters - located in Downtown Denver, Colorado

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

With guidance given from the Product and/or Project Engineers:

• 3D/2D CAD creation of new EcoVapor products.
• Prepare 3D designs and 2D drawings based on design standards, sketches, and notes from the engineering team
• Draft complete fabrication drawing sets for manufacturing
• 3D/2D CAD management and sustainment of existing EcoVapor products
• Update and checking of existing 3D designs and 2D drawing sets
• Optimization of 3D CAD files and design tree structure
• 2D drafting of conceptual product diagrams.
• Management and contribution of/to the comprehensive PDM Vault
• Upholding EcoVapor design standards for both 3D and 2D CAD
• Creation of product renders and animation

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Associate’s degree in CAD drafting (or similar degree) and 1 year in a CAD Drafting position
• OR 3 years experience in a CAD Drafting position
• CSWA or CSWP (preferred)

Skills & Software Familiarity

• 2 years of experience with SolidWorks
• Experience with designing and maintaining 3D assemblies of 500-1000 parts
• Experience with using/managing Solidworks PDM Vault
• Experience with SolidWorks drafting, weldments, configurations, 3D sketches and basic design features preferred
• Experience with industrial gas processing equipment preferred
• Experience with industrial electronics and instrumentation preferred

General

• Ability to take design direction and translate into a comprehensive, well structured design
• Collaborative outlook with ability to self manage to meet objectives on time
• Passionately creative with a design outlook to do more with less
• Knowledge of oil and gas industry in an engineering / manufacturing environment along with the relevant standards is a plus
• Highly organized with experience balancing multiple high-priority projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Personally driven to deliver excellence and achieve compliance to schedule
• Experience in, or ability to adapt to a small team environment where team members must exhibit flexibility and team-oriented behavior in close working relationships

Job Type: Full-time, hourly pay

Schedule: Monday to Friday
