Reports to: Managing Director, Ecotrust Investments
Location: Portland, OR (remote possible in WA, AK, and OR)
Starting Salary: $85,000 to $96,000 → Starting salary placement will be based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. The starting salary will not exceed this posted range.

Job Summary
The Transactions & Asset Management Director will lead and support Ecotrust CDE’s allocation deployment, portfolio management, compliance, impact reporting, and unwinds of Ecotrust CDE’s New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) portfolio, participate in annual NMTC application writing, and support Natural Capital Holdings (NCH) asset management with specific attention to real estate assets and balance sheet alignment with Ecotrust’s mission. The Director will directly manage consultants (who provide legal, accounting, operations, and application support), and may manage Ecotrust staff. This position will collaborate closely with Ecotrust’s CDE staff, finance & accounting team, program staff (who have subject matter expertise in the CDE’s target sectors), and Ecotrust’s Measurement & Evaluation (M&E) team. The Director will report to the Managing Director of Ecotrust Investments (who also serves as President of Ecotrust CDE and NCH).

The Director brings both real estate asset management and NMTC transaction and portfolio management experience and industry relationships to the Ecotrust team and is committed to economic, environmental, and racial justice. You have 8 years of work experience, with expertise managing real estate assets and NMTC transactions, portfolios, and projects. You have a keen attention to detail, deep understanding of community development finance. You bring a rigorous analytical approach to your work, and also step back from the spreadsheets and legal documents to enjoy strategic, creative, and critical thinking, especially with teammates. You are self directed and independent, while also open to growing through feedback and thrive in an environment that values direct and empathetic communication. You deeply believe that racial equity, climate justice, and economic empowerment are important and act on these beliefs in your daily life. You are passionate about strategies that build intergenerational wealth across communities resisting economic and racial exclusion.

Full Salary Range for Level: $85,000 to $129,000 Annual Salary (not hiring range)
This is a full-time, exempt position.

Working conditions:
