By joining the EconSys team, the selected individual will contribute to the accomplishments of the EconSys Federal HR Services Division and work in support of an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes quality, productivity, and customer service. Responsibilities:

  • The Federal HR Assistant is responsible for supporting the EconSys HR Services Division on multiple projects. The person in this position will be trained, and then will provide support as it relates to many Federal HR functions.

    Responsibilities may include the following:

  • The primary purpose of the position is to create, monitor, maintain, handle, manipulate, and transfer electronic Official Personnel Folders (eOPF). The incumbent must ensure the quality of electronic OPFs created, imported, or transferred.
  • Maintains electronic Official Personnel Folders (eOPFs) for civilian employees GSA-wide. Reviews documents received both electronically and through the mail to determine if appropriate for filing in the OPF. Ensure that eOPFs and documents are screened in accordance with OPM Guide to Recordkeeping.
  • Once appropriateness is determined, from a predefined list of forms/document types, the incumbent must select the form number/document type, the appropriate Effective Date, and the appropriate Side/folder to place the document; folder Sides consist of Temporary, Performance, Training, Transferred, I-9, Return Rights, Permanent, Overseas, Deleted, Benefits, and PRP. If received via surface mail, in addition to performing each of the steps above, the incumbent must scan the document and then take the necessary steps to ensure it is uploaded into the correct employee’s eOPF.
  • Reviews all documents received ensuring proper completion, returns incomplete or unsigned forms, e.g., Designation of Beneficiary, form 306, etc.; scans and uploads high priority items received, e.g., court documents, replacement documents received by employees, etc.
  • Receive requests from Security agencies to review eOPFs. Ensures employee signs proper release forms and the agent reviewing the eOPF present proper credentials prior to the release of information and instructs the requester on how to navigate through the eOPF.
  • Receives and processes incoming mail from the Regions, including a variety of correspondence and documents related to Federal employment. Determines mail to be opened and mail to be delivered unopened. Sorts mail according to organization or individual to whom correspondence is addressed. Processes outgoing mail: verify enclosures or attachments are present and that documents are signed and dated. Sorts mail according to delivery points and that which requires special handling. Prepares registered, insured, certified, express mail, confirmation, FedEx, and UPS outgoing mail.

Qualifications:

  • Able to obtain Public Trust (U.S. Citizenship required), at a minimum.
  • Willing to come in the office at least once a week.
  • Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of, and skill in applying a wide range of office automation software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint​​​​

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Or equivalent experience (Minimum of 1 year of Federal HR experience, either as a Federal employee or contractor)
