A Little About Us:

Economy Wholesale Grocers opened its doors in 1958 to the Southwest and Mexico region. Since that time, we became the regional leader in Wholesale grocer commerce. Our priorities are the relationships we have with our Customers, our Suppliers and our Employees.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Under direction of supervisor, safely transports incoming and outgoing merchandise to designated areas utilizing appropriate tools/vehicles to accomplish task including but not limited to handheld device, forklift, and/or electric pallet jack.
• Performs quality inspections on incoming and outgoing merchandise. Ensure merchandise is recorded correctly.
• Safely sorts and places merchandise on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined inventory procedures. Replenishes merchandise from reserves as needed.
• Picks and packs customer orders as needed.
• Removes damaged merchandise and places it in its designated area.
• Maintains proper rotation of merchandise.
• Always keep safety a priority, to include pedestrian traffic and forklift operation.
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE, examples: Safety Belt, High Visibility Vest).
• Maintains a safe, clean working environment, to include maintaining a clean dock and clean aisles.
• Participates in quality improvement efforts.
• Performs required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence.

• Assists customers as needed. Provides excellent customer service.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• One year of related experience or equivalent.
• Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods.
• Current Forklift Certification for stand-up forklift 3500 lbs.
• Bilingual preferred.
• High School graduate or GED

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Frequently required to stand and walk.
• Occasionally required to sit
• Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
• Continually required to climb ladders, balance, bend, stoop, or kneel.
• Frequently required to talk or hear.
• Frequently utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard.
• Frequently work near moving mechanical parts.
• Frequently work in high, precarious places.
• Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
• Frequently exposed to extreme cold temperatures ranging from -10˚ to 40˚.
• Frequently required to lift/push/carry items less than 25 pounds and up to 100 pounds.
• Frequent loud noise (examples: forklift horn, forkliftback up alarm).
