What will you be doing?

Making an impact every day. You will be part of a dynamic, passionate team of professionals who work to drive the communication strategy of EMPath and its mission to disrupt poverty.

The Residential Coach will play a key role in will play a key role in directing participants as they enter and exit shelter as well as:

• Support daily shelter activities to ensure safety and operating procedures-including house logs, participant activities, and engagements with resources or external partners
• Provide one-to-one Mobility Mentoring coaching to a caseload of 5-6 participants on goals related to upward economic mobility, including housing, budgeting, career and education, childcare, health care, and more.
• Support to family programming, initiatives or special project

What traits do you need to be successful in this role?

• Passion for and experience working with diverse populations, including persons experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, substance abuse or mental health crises
• Strong soft skills or emotional intelligence needed to work under pressure or in complex situations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills, observant, and ability to make sounds judgements when necessary

Ways to stand out of the crowd

• Bilingual in Haitian-creole or Spanish
• Associate’s Degree in human services, child welfare, hospitality or related field

Work-life balance for essential workers Empath offers to a four-day work week for all direct services roles, 4 days of 9-hour schedule for most direct service roles where staffing levels allow.

Pay transparency: This role is budgeted for up to $47,000 annually.

Schedule: Monday and Wednesday 7-4 pm and Tuesday and Thursday 9-6pm
