Job DetailsJob Details:
Our organization is seeking a driven and strategic Permanent Environmental Manager to join our dynamic Finance team. This role is a unique opportunity to combine your passion for environmental sustainability with your expertise in the finance industry. You will be responsible for ensuring that our organization is compliant with environmental regulations and policies while also driving our sustainability initiatives. This role is ideal for someone with a background in environmental management in the manufacturing sector, who is looking to apply their skills in a finance context.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement environmental strategies and action plans, to ensure corporate sustainable development.
  • Lead the implementation of environmental policies and practices.
  • Coordinate all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation, and renewable energy.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and keep up-to-date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all relevant regulations.
  • Audit, analyze and report environmental performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Carry out impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce an organization's environmental risks and financial costs.
  • Promote and manage corporate social responsibility initiatives.
  • Develop and implement environmental management systems to boost environmental performance.
  • Coordinate public hearings and consultations on environmental matters.
  • Manage relations with the board of directors, senior management, and internal staff.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental management, ideally within the manufacturing sector.
  • In-depth understanding of the finance industry and its environmental impact.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing environmental policies and programs.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and legislation.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences.
  • Proficiency in using software for data analysis and reporting.
  • Certification from a recognized environmental body is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, and to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong commitment to promoting sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
