II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assigns duties per weekly work schedule to extent possible while still supporting critical plant equipment.
- Examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates
- Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances; initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals including the recommendation of training where there are opportunities to improve skills.
- Implements work procedures to meet production schedules and to keep mechanical systems operating.
- Orders materials necessary to complete work orders efficiently and at lowest cost
- Complies with all environmental, health, safety, and housekeeping programs.
- Participate in JTE team activities as assigned to represent Maintenance Department
- Coach employees in Lean Manufacturing rules and principles through leading by example
- Initiates the creation of Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) to install consistency with direct reports
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma.
- 2 years maintenance supervisory or lead-man experience in industrial environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Environmental training applicable to the job
- Safety training for applicable equipment
- Job instructional training
- Quality system familiarization
- EMS ISO 14001 awareness. Plant EMS objectives and targets
- Significant environmental air aspects and impacts
- Active participation and support of plant JTE initiative and activities.
