Network Engineer

Position Overview:

We seek a skilled Network Engineer with extensive experience in network management within cloud environments and expertise in designing and managing large-area WiFi networks. The successful candidate will have a strong background in technologies such as TP-Link Omada, VLANs, VMWare, and SonicWall. This role is critical for ensuring optimal performance and security of our network infrastructure across various platforms. Some travel required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement robust large-area WiFi networks using TP-Link Omada solutions, ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal coverage.
  • Configure and manage VLANs to optimize network performance and security across multiple sites.
  • Deploy and maintain virtual environments using VMWare, ensuring efficient operation of our virtual servers and applications.
  • Manage firewall settings and security protocols using SonicWall to safeguard network resources.
  • Perform Linux system administration tasks to maintain and optimize server performance.
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and scalability.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot network issues, and provide timely resolutions.
  • Document network configurations and changes, maintaining clear records for compliance and operational continuity.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure integration of network solutions with existing IT infrastructure.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in network management and cloud computing.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in network engineering, specializing in cloud environments and large area WiFi network design and management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of TP-Link Omada, VLANs, VMWare, SonicWall, Linux administration, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with additional networking and security technologies like Cisco Systems, Fortinet, or similar.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Professional certifications related to network engineering (Cisco, Juniper, VMWare, etc.) are highly desirable.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of working collaboratively across diverse IT teams.
