Eckerd College is currently hiring for the position of Admission Counselor to join the Enrollment Management team at our waterfront property along the Boca Ciega Bay in St. Petersburg, Florida, in our relationship-focused community. As an Admission Counselor, you are part of a team that develops relationships with prospective students and their families in the assigned territory and provides information about the application and enrollment process at Eckerd College. Depending on your experience, you may start as a Senior Admission Counselor.
Our Admission Counselors demonstrate the ability to build relationships with people from diverse backgrounds including faculty, staff, students, prospective students, and families. In doing so, our counselors possess exceptional skills in multiple forms of communication, particularly with regard to public speaking and presenting to both internal and external audiences. The ability to organize and manage your time and schedule effectively is crucial to success in the position. Regular travel to assigned territory is required (7-9 weeks in the fall, 3-5 weeks in the spring) as well as after-hours work to attend admission events on campus.
The admission team comprises a highly collaborative group of individuals who are committed to a student-centered admission process based on fit. Professional growth is encouraged through shared responsibilities within the office and in building relationships with other campus departments.
