Purpose of the Position

As an Early Childhood Teacher at EBGIS, you will play a vital role in nurturing the academic, linguistic, and socio-emotional development of our youngest learners. You will provide a dynamic and supportive learning environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, and cultural appreciation. Through engaging, play-based activities and differentiated instruction, you will facilitate language acquisition and cognitive growth in both English and German. Role Overview

As an Early Childhood Teacher at EBGIS, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for preschool and kindergarten students. Your primary focus will be on implementing the school's dual-language immersion curriculum, ensuring that students develop proficiency in both English and German languages. You will design and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons and activities that promote language acquisition, social-emotional growth, and cognitive development. Collaborating with colleagues and parents, you will monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes, and provide targeted support to meet the diverse needs of each child. Additionally, you will contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive classroom culture, fostering a love of learning and a sense of belonging among young learners. Through your dedication and passion for early childhood education, you will help lay the groundwork for students' future academic success and global citizenship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Mission and Vision:

• Align teaching practices with the school's mission and vision, fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic excellence, cultural competence, and social-emotional development.
• Embrace and promote the values of dual-language immersion education, cultivating a love for learning and an appreciation for linguistic and cultural diversity.

Curriculum:

• Collaboratively implement the comprehensive dual-language immersion curriculum that integrates language learning with age-appropriate activities and experiences, following established standards and guidelines.
• Adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, supporting language acquisition, literacy development, numeracy skills, and social-emotional growth.
• Ensure alignment between curriculum objectives, instructional practices, and assessment methods, monitoring student progress and adjusting instruction as needed.

Budget and Resource Management:

• Manage classroom resources effectively, including materials, supplies, and equipment, within allocated budgetary constraints.
• Identify and advocate for additional resources and funding opportunities to enhance the quality of early childhood education programs and support student learning outcomes.

Working with Students:

• Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and active engagement among young learners.
• Differentiate instruction to address individual learning needs and promote academic growth, providing personalized support and guidance as needed.
• Implement developmentally appropriate classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior and social skills, fostering a sense of belonging and community.

Working with Parents:

• Establish open and ongoing communication channels with parents, sharing information about classroom activities, student progress, and strategies for supporting learning at home.
• Collaborate with parents as partners in their children's education, soliciting feedback, addressing concerns, and providing resources and guidance to support their involvement in the learning process.
• Effectively communicate classroom and individual progress within designated communication channels according to EBGIS guidelines and expectations.

Working with Colleagues:

• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, including other early childhood educators, language specialists, and support staff, to promote a cohesive and integrated approach to teaching and learning.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and collaborative planning sessions to share best practices, exchange ideas, and support each other's professional growth and development.

School Community:

• Contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture, actively participating in school events, meetings, and outreach activities to build relationships with students, families, and the broader community.
• Support the school's mission and values by upholding professional standards of conduct, fostering a sense of belonging and respect, and promoting a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Camps:

• Organize, facilitate and staff camp programs for preschool or kindergarten students (depending on your role), providing enriching and engaging activities that promote learning, language immersion, socialization, and fun during school breaks.
• Collaborate with coordinators and administrators to develop camp schedules, curriculum themes, and special events, ensuring a well-rounded and enjoyable experience for campers.

Other Duties:

• Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and communications, adhering to relevant regulations, policies, and procedures governing early childhood education.
• Participate in school-wide committees, task forces, and professional development activities as assigned, contributing to the overall success and growth of the school community.
• Undertake additional responsibilities and projects as needed to support the school's mission and strategic priorities, demonstrating flexibility, initiative, and a commitment to excellence in early childhood education.
• If assigned, support classroom learning in multiple rooms across Preschool and Kindergarten.

Qualification Requirements:

• Completed studies as a childhood educator (BA) or early childhood educator (BA) or state-recognized educator training with a technical college degree.
• At least 2 years of professional experience with children of toddler or kindergarten age after graduation - ideally in a multilingual environment.
• Very good language skills and communication skills in German and English.
• High level of social competence and ability to cooperate within the team.
• Strong willingness to stimulate, promote, and document child development and educational processes.
• Appreciative and resource-oriented attitude when working with children and their families.
• Strong sensitivity and competence with regard to intercultural aspects of relationship and educational work.
• Willingness to plan and creatively design individualized/tailored support services.
• Learning competence, willingness to reflect on and continuously develop own pedagogical actions.
• High level of commitment to the further development of the school's "Early Years Program" and the design of transitions in collaboration with the teaching staff.
• Supporting the program director, school management, and school board in organizational matters.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $67,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
